Laparoscopy
Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to diagnose or treat medical problems within the body, especially in the abdomen and pelvis. The procedure involves the use of a special instrument called a laparoscope, which is a thin tube with a small camera and surgical instruments that are placed through a few small incisions in the abdomen wall. Laparoscopy allows the doctor to see the condition of the organs and tissues in the patient’s body more clearly and accurately, as well as speed up the patient’s recovery compared to traditional surgical procedures.
In the case of obstetrics, laparoscopy is performed by using a telescope inserted into a small incision of 0.5-1 cm in the navel and lower abdomen. Through this access, the doctor can insert surgical instruments that are small in size but can do the same thing if the procedure is done through conventional surgery.
Laparoscopy has many benefits for patients, including faster recovery, lower risk of complications, and the ability to address more specific and complex medical problems. Various medical conditions can be performed with this modern surgical method. Such as ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, hysterectomy (removal of the uterus), etc. This procedure can be performed safely and with a relatively low risk of surgery. Because of the very short recovery period, patients can be discharged in a short time.
Hysteroscopy
Hysteroscopy is a procedure to examine the condition inside the uterus, using a small telescope that is inserted into the uterus.
It is used to:
-
Detect problems such as heavy menstrual bleeding, unusual vaginal bleeding, postmenopausal bleeding, pelvic pain, recurrent miscarriage or difficulty getting pregnant.
-
Diagnose fibroids in the endometrium or polyps (non-cancerous tumors that grow in the endometrium).
-
Treat and overcome conditions such as fibroids in the endometrium, polyps, IUI translocation (IUD that has shifted its place), intrauterine adhesions (adhesions that cause loss of menstruation and reduce fertility).
Hysteroscopy procedure can be done in one day, so no treatment is required if there are no complications. And given Sedation anesthesia during the procedure.
