Fresh embryo transfer can be performed after the Ovum Pickup procedure within 3-5 days of embryo development.
Frozen embryo transfer is a technique in the IVF program that is used to increase the chances of successful pregnancy in couples who have fertility problems. The process involves freezing the fertilized embryos and storing them in liquid nitrogen at a temperature of -196°C. The embryos can then be stored for years until the couple is ready to transfer them into the woman’s uterus. This technique is also called frozen embryo transfer (FET).
FET is performed by thawing and placing carefully selected frozen embryos into the woman’s uterus at the right time during the menstrual cycle. The process involves close monitoring from the preparation stage to the embryo transfer, as well as hormone preparation to help maintain the uterine environment to be more suitable for embryo implantation. Although it is not always successful, FET provides a greater chance of pregnancy, as couples can try again to transfer the next embryo without having to undergo in vitro fertilization from the beginning, which is more time-consuming and expensive.
